You've seen them in restaurants and theaters--those tubes full of lights proprietors use to mark stair edges and other potential hazards that might be fallen down or tripped over in dim light. That's not to say that Good Earth Lighting's rope lighting products can only be used in public venues--you could use them as funky accent lighting in a living room, party lighting, or to outline a path in your backyard.The key to using these lights to full effect is mounting them securely, and everything you need in order to do this is included in the hardware kit, which contains mounting clips, cable ties, and screws. The lights themselves are extremely long-lasting--they're rated at 35,000 hours, and the heavy-duty PVC rope is an unobtrusive 3/8-inch in diameter. For longer runs, you can easily connect one set to another (up to 330 feet maximum). The G9548CLR-I is 48 feet long, and operates at 120 volts. If you need more length per set, see the 6-, 12-, and 24-foot models (#G9506CLR-I, #G9512CLR-I, #G9524CLR-I). Note that these lights will heat up when in use--they should not be left on unattended.  Great lights but some go out... December 30, 2008

I use these rope lights to illuminate hard to reach shelving in my garage--it lights great and is a relatively inexpensive solution...i use mine only indoors. Out of four long light ropes, a few lights in a single rope stopped working the first day. I have used them for more than a month now, and they others are all fine...

Lights the inside of my house from dusk till the timer i have it on turns it off for pennies a day...
It has paid for itself in a months time with the electric i've saved...
I also use one that runs the length of my deck outside and it's plenty of ambient lighting...

Priced several strings of lights. This one was exactly the length I needed for my patio. Gives subdued lighting and it cost very little compared to other options. All the hanging brackets were included and were easy to use.

We ordered these for our gazebo and they are really nice! They don't give off enough light to illuminate your entire neighborhood, but rather just enough to light your area. They were also easy to install. The mounting clips that this set came with are different than that of conventional rope lights and can be a bit more difficult to install if you are using a drill. Otherwise these were a breeze to hang. They came coiled up, but unraveled and straightened with little effort. I will definitely buy this brand next time we need a set.
